Corid is the first product specifically labelled to both treat and prevent bovine coccidiosis. Corid®(amprolium) is indicated as an aid in the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis (bloody scourd) caused by Eimeria bovis and E. zurnii in calves. Caution: For a Satisfactory diagnosis, a microscopic examination of the feces should be done before treatment. When treating outbreaks, drug should be administered promptly after diagnosis is determined. Corid is a coccidiostat which can be administered in drinking water or as a drench. Structurally, Corid resembles Vitamin B I, but actually has no nutritive value.Coccidia need vitamin B I for development and reproduction. When coccidia ingest Corid, they experience thiamin deficiency, causing coccidia to strave from malnutrition.
