Step 1: Your feeder should arrive complete with a red base, a white tube and a poly bag containing the axle rod assembly. Step 2: Open the poly bag. Unthread the parts shown and set aside. Step 3: Slide axle rod assembly (spring side up) through the small hole in the base of the feeder. Step 4: Attach the large washer, lock washer, and lower wing nut to the underside of the base as shown. Next, thread the wing nut to secure the parts. Step 5: Place the white tube over the axle rod assembly. Slide the axle assembly through the small hole at the top of the tube. Step 6: Attach the washer and upper wing nut as shown (you may need to apply some pressure to compress the spring). Twist the wing nut to tighten the entire assembly.
